  • Heavy rainfall has been affecting southern Philippines (in particular the western Mindanao island) since 7 June, causing floods that have resulted in population displacement and damage.
  • The ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet) reports, as of 9 June, more than 4,500 evacuated people in 15 evacuation centres and 64 damaged houses across the Zamboanga Peninsula region (western Mindanao island) where the most affected is the Zamboanga del Sur province.
  • Over the next 72 hours, more heavy rainfall is still forecast over the whole Mindanao island.

  • Heavy rainfall has been affecting northern and southern Philippines, in particular the southern Luzon island and the northern Mindanao island over the past few days, causing floods that have resulted in population displacement and damage.
  • Media report, as of 11 June, one injured person, 85 evacuated people, 1,300 affected people, a number of damaged infrastructures, and one damaged bridge in the area of San Jose del Monte city, Bulacan province, Central Luzon region. In addition, media report 52 evacuated families across the Metro Manila area. Moreover, a number of damaged infrastructures were also reported across the Cagayan de Oro city, Misamis Oriental province, Northern Mindanao region.
  • Over the next 72 hours, more heavy rainfall with locally very heavy rainfall is still forecast over most of the country.

  • The Philippines continues to experience severe weather and flooding, particularly affecting Luzon, the Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao, Mindanao, and SOCCSKSARGEN regions. This meteorological event is driven by a combination of the Southwest Monsoon, a Low Pressure Area, and tropical storm WUTIP, which is currently moving over southern China.
  • According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), three people have died in Mindanao, and one person has been injured in Luzon. In total, 17,516 people have been affected, and nearly 1,500 have been displaced.
  • Moderate to locally heavy rainfall is forecast across most parts of the country on 12–13 June.
