Cameroon - Severe weather

Heavy rainfall and strong winds affected Cameroon between 1-8 June, causing severe weather-related incidents and floods that resulted in displacement and damage.
According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA), three people died and several houses have been destroyed in Darak town in the Logone-et-Chari department of the Far North region. In addition, at least 420 people have been displaced from Blangoua Bâche town in the same department, due to damages in the shelters that host around 10,000 people.
Over the next 48 hours, drier conditions are expected over northern Cameroon, and more rainfall is forecast over the central and southern parts of the country.
