  • On 20 August, severe flooding triggered by intense rainfall struck the Guadalajara municipality in Jalisco state, central Mexico, disrupting traffic and causing significant damage.
  • As of 21 August, media reports indicated that two individuals were rescued from a submerged vehicle. At least 51 homes were damaged, particularly in the Fraccionamiento Las Torres and Bosques de la Victoria neighborhoods, along with 13 damaged vehicles and several fallen trees. The flooding also caused severe traffic disruptions in the area.
  • Over the next 48 hours, additional rainfall is forecast for Jalisco state, including isolated instances of heavy to very heavy rain.

  • Over the past few days, heavy rains have caused severe flooding and landslides in multiple states across Mexico, leading to a major humanitarian crisis.
  • According to media reports at least 47 people have died across four states: 18 in Veracruz, 16 in Hidalgo, 12 in Puebla and one in Querétaro. Moreover, 38 people remain missing, approximately 260 towns, particularly in mountainous areas, are isolated. Tens of thousands of houses have been flooded or damaged by mud and debris.
  • On 13–14 October, moderate to very heavy rainfall is expected in northeastern and northern Mexico.

  • The humanitarian impact of the severe weather and consequent flooding that have been affecting Veracruz, Puebla, Hidalgo, San Luis Potosí, and Querétaro states, eastern Mexico, since 6 October, continues to increase.
  • According to national authorities, as of 15 October, 66 people died, including 30 in Veracruz, 21 in Hidalgo, 14 in Puebla, one in Querétaro, and 75 are still missing. At least 7,572 people have been displaced across 115 shelters across the five affected states. Homes and roads have been flooded, and damage assessment is still ongoing. Federal estimates mention at least 100,000 homes impacted.
  • On 14 October, the Copernicus Emergency Management Service (EMS) was activated in rapid mapping mode () and five products in five areas have been produced so far.
  • More rainfall and strong winds are still forecast over southern and western Mexico between 16 and 18 October.

  • UN OCHA, as of 17 October reports of 72 dead and 48 missing people since 6 October. 7,500 people have been displaced, as more than 100,000 homes have been damaged, 121 municipalities are affected across the states of Veracruz, Hidalgo, Puebla, Querétaro, and San Luis Potosí.
  • The Copernicus Emergency Management Service (EMS) was activated in rapid mapping mode () on 13 October, with seven maps produced so far.
  • Over the next 48 hours, more rainfall with locally heavy rainfall is forecast over the southern half of the country.

  • From 7-11 October, heavy rainfall affected several states of Mexico, causing floods and landslides that have resulted in fatalities, displacement, and widespread damage.
  • As of 21 October, UN OCHA reports of 76 dead, 31 people missing, and at least 70,445 homes damaged, with damage assessments ongoing. Additionally, 112 communities remain inaccessible, 74 of which in Hildago, 31 in Veracruz, and seven in Puebla. 
  • The Copernicus Emergency Management Service (EMS) was activated in rapid mapping mode (EMSR845) from 13-21 October, with nine products produced.
  • UNICEF, Save the Children and Médecins du Monde Suisse are responding under ongoing EU-funded projects to address the most urgent needs of affected communities.
  • Over the next 48 hours, more rainfall with locally heavy rainfall is forecast over the southern part of the country.
