  • Heavy rainfall and thunderstorms have been affecting northern France since 21 September, causing flooding that resulted in casualties and damage.
  • According to media, as of 24 September, one person died due to river overflow in Guingamp commune of the Côtes-d'Armor department, in Brittany in north-western France. 
  • A shelter has been set up in the nearby Ploumagoar commune for those affected.  In addition, one school has been closed in Saint-Quay-Portrieux, and dozens of houses have been affected by floods in the Côtes-d'Armor department.
  • Over the next 48 hours, more rainfall is expected over central and eastern France.
