  • Severe flooding and landslides, caused by heavy rainfall, have been impacting central Vietnam since 25 October, causing fatalities and extensive damage.
  • As of 30 October, media reports indicate up to 14 fatalities, and up to eight people that are still unaccounted for. In Danang, 19 people were injured,  26,000 people have been evacuated across Danang, Hue, and Quang Ngai, and more than 128,000 homes in 90 communes have been affected.
  • On 30 October, the Copernicus Emergency Management Service () was activated in rapid mapping mode to provide flood extent emergency mapping.
  • Over the next 48 hours, additional rain is forecast over central Vietnam.

  • Severe flooding and landslides, caused by heavy rainfall, have been impacting central Vietnam since 25 October, causing fatalities, displacement and extensive damage.
  • As at 30 October, the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Centre) and the IFRC reports of ten fatalities, eight people still missing, and 22 people injured. IFRC further indicates that 25,878 people are displaced and a total of 400,000 affected. 51 houses collapsed completely, 122 houses are damaged in parts, while 128,024 additional houses are flooded. In total, 90 communes have been affected across Quang Tri, Hue City, Da Nang City, and Quang Ngai.
  • The same sources also report of extensive crop loss, perished livestock, and of 20 national highways blocked and extensive transport infrastructure damages.
  • On 30 October, the Copernicus Emergency Management Service (EMSR848) was activated in rapid mapping mode to provide flood extent emergency mapping, with three maps produced so far.
  • Over the next 48 hours, continued heavy to very heavy rain is forecast over central Vietnam.
