Democratic Republic of the Congo - Floods
  • Very heavy rainfall affected the western Democratic Republic of the Congo, in particular the Kinshasa capital city area, bordering with Brazzaville, the capital city of the Republic of the Congo, over 11-12 November, causing floods and river overflow- (in particular the Congo, N'djili, Nsanga and Makelele rivers - that have resulted in casualties and severe damage.
  • The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) reports, as of 14 November, ten fatalities, 153 injured persons, more than 63,300 displaced people and a total of approximately 99,150 affected people across the Kinshasa capital city area. In addition, several infrastructure have been damaged, and two bridges destroyed.
  • Over the next 48 hours, more heavy rainfall with locally very heavy rainfall is still forecast over most of the western Democratic Republic of the Congo, including the already affected area.
