  • In mid-November, heavy rains caused the Piraí and Achira rivers to overflow, leading to severe flooding and landslides in Samaipata, Florida province, Santa Cruz department, in southern-central Bolivia. The disaster resulted in injuries and property damage, particularly in the Achira community.
  • As of 26 November, the IFRC reports two missing persons and further estimates that 125 people have been displaced, while a total of 5,234 individuals were affected.
  • According to the civil protection authorities (VIDECI), search operations are underway as of 28 November, two individuals sustained direct injuries and 1,207 people receiving treatment for respiratory infections and diarrhea after consuming contaminated river water. 
  • As of 28 November, VIDECI further reports over 50 homes destroyed, while media sources indicate that 645 ha of crops have been lost.
  • From 3 to 5 December, heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecast for the affected area.
