  • Widespread flooding continues across 11 northern provinces, Phitsanulok, Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Sing Buri, Chai Nat, Ang Thong, Suphan Buri, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, and Nakhon Pathom and more than 10 southern provinces Surat Thani, Krabi, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang, Phatthalung, Satun, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat.
  • According to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), 28 people have died in the northern regions,most of them in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya (19 deaths), with over 2.4 million people - at least 400,000 children - affected across both regions.
  • Moderate to locally heavy rain is expected in southern Thailand over the next three days, while central and northern regions are forecast to remain dry.

  • Severe floods have continued to affect northern, central and peninsular Thailand since mid-November, resulting in an increased number of casualties. The affected provinces in the central and north are Phitsanulok, Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Sing Buri, Chainat, Ang Thong, Suphan Buri, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi and Nakhon Pathom. The affected ones across Peninsular Thailand are Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang, Phatthalung, Satun, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat.
  • DG ECHO and IFRC report, as of 27 November, a total of 46 fatalities, of whom 28 are across northern and central provinces and 16 more in Peninsular Thailand. In addition, the same sources also report a total of more than 3.22 million affected people and nearly 740,500 affected houses across the country.
  • Over the next 96 hours, moderate rainfall is forecast over parts of Peninsular Thailand, while no more rainfall is forecast over the rest of the country.

  • In the past week, southern Thailand has experienced widespread flooding due to very heavy rainfall, and the death toll has risen, particularly in the Southern Region.
  • According to the ASEAN Disaster Information Net (ADINET), 168 people have died, while nearly 3 million people have been affected, including more than 1.15 million houses across 12 provinces. The affected provinces include: Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Krabi, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Trang, Phatthalung, Satun, Songkhla, Pattani, Narathiwat, and Yala.
  • From 1 to 3 December, drier conditions are expected across most of the country, though isolated rain is forecast in southern Thailand.

  • Following the very heavy rainfall, widespread floods, and several landslides that affected the Sumatra island, north-western Indonesia, southern Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia since the second half of November, the humanitarian impact continues to rise.
  • In Indonesia, the Indonesian National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB) reports, as of 3 December, 604 fatalities across the North Sumatra, West Sumatra and Aceh provinces, in addition 464 people missing were also reported across the three provinces. The IFRC also reports 2,600 injured, 578,000 displaced people and a total of approximately 1.5 million affected people throughout the affected provinces.
  • In Thailand, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) reports 181 fatalities and around 3.9 million affected people across the southern provinces in the Malay Peninsula.
  • Moreover, in Malaysia, according to the ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet), the death toll stands at two, and more than 12,600 people evacuated across 118 evacuation centres were reported.
  • Over the next 72 hours, more rainfall with locally heavy rainfall is forecast over the whole Sumatra island and most of Peninsular Malaysia.

  • Heavy rainfall continues to affect southeast Asia, particularly northwestern Indonesia, southern Thailand, and peninsular Malaysia, leading to a rising humanitarian impact.
  • In Indonesia, UN OCHA reports 770 fatalities, 463 missing, 746,000 displaced, and 3.2 million affected across three provinces of Sumatra: Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra. In Thailand, the same source reported 185 deaths, 367 missing, 4 million affected, and 219,000 displaced people in 12 southern provinces. Meanwhile, in Malaysia, 37,000 people have been displaced across eight states, Kelantan, Perlis, Perak, Selangor, Kedah, Penang, Terengganu, and Pahang.
  • On 4–6 December, moderate to locally heavy rainfall is expected across most of Sumatra, peninsular Malaysia, and the southernmost regions of Thailand.
