Edirne Province, Türkiye, Late February 2026Local media in Türkiye reported the Tunca, Arda and Meriç rivers overflowed their banks in late February 2026, flooding agricultural lands in Edirne Province. This was the second time in February flooding along the Tunca and Meriç rivers. Local media said the late February floods were caused by heavy rainfall in river catchments and controlled water releases from energy production dams in Bulgaria.
