Peninsular Malaysia, January 2021Heavy rain caused flooding in Johor, Pahang and Terengganu states in Malaysia from 01 January. As of 03 January around 9,000 people had been evacuated. 1 fatality was reported in Johor. By 05 January, heavy rain and flooding affected more states in the region: Kedah (34 people displaced), Perak (1,154), Selangor (183), Kelantan (78) and Terengganu (876). The situation worsened in Pahang where 17,903 people were displaced as of 05 January.
