São Paulo State, Brazil, Late January 2022The government of São Paulo State, Brazil, reported at least 19 people died due to landslides and flooding after a period of heavy rainfall in late January 2022. Authorities said around 500 families were displaced as a result of flooding. Fatality figures were later updated to 24.
