Tropical Cyclone Hinnamnor, South and North Korea, September 2022Heavy rain brought by Typhoon Hinnamnor from 04 September 2022 triggered flash flooding and landslides in South Korea, in particular in North Gyeongsang Province. Officials reported one person died in floods in the coastal city of Pohang and another after a landslide buried a house in Gyeongju. As of 06 September at least 10 people remained unaccounted for, including 8 people in flooded underground parking garage of an apartment building in Pohang. Rescuers were draining the garage in order to search for the missing. One person was reported missing in floods in a separate incident in Pohang, and another went missing after floods in Ulsan. Heavy rain was also reported in parts of North Korea during this period. As of 06 September no reports of flooding were available.Tue 6 Sep 2022FloodList provided by Copernicus GLOFAS
