  • Following the floods in south-eastern Brazil, the rivers in Argentina, (mainly in the coastal area of the country), have begun to rise significantly, generating alerts, causing floods and resulting in evacuations in the provinces of Corrientes and Entre Ríos (north-eastern Argentina).
  • According to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), as of 13 May, almost 1,000 people have been evacuated (while many others had to self-evacuate to the homes of relatives and relatives) and 2,400 affected in eight departments of the provinces of Corrientes and Entre Ríos.
  • The same source reports that river levels in some areas of the country are expected to continue rising. 
  • On 15-16 May, drier conditions are expected over the affected areas.
