  • The rainy season continues to affect most parts of the country, causing widespread floods, and severe weather related incidents and resulting in an increasing number of casualties and damage.
  • According to media, as of 20 June, 21 people died (14 of them in the Maradi region - central-southern Niger), 23 have been injured, almost 6,000 others have been affected and 4,000 livestock were reported dead.
  • For the next 48 hours, moderate to locally heavy rainfall is forecast across southern and south-eastern Niger.
