  • Tropical Cyclone CILIDA continues to strengthen as it moves  south-west over the Indian Ocean. On 21 December at 00:00 UTC, its centre was located approx. 640 km north of Mauritius and 775 Km north-east of La Réunion with maximum sustained winds of 194 km/h (Tropical Storm).
  • Over the next 24 h, it is forecast to continue moving southwards, strengthening, with maximum sustained winds up to 231 km/h. Heavy rainfall and strong winds could affect Mauritius and Rodrigues Island on 21-23 December.

  • Tropical cyclone CILIDA (previously named SEVEN) continued south-west over the southwestern Indian Ocean, slighty strengthening. On 20 December at 0:00 UTC, its centre was located approx. 920 km north-north-east of Mauritius and 1 090 Km north-east of La Réunion with maximum sustained winds of 83 km/h (tropical storm). Over the next 24 hours, it is forecast to continue south-west, strengthening, with maximum sustained winds up to 130 km/h.
  • CILIDA may pass between Mauritius and Rodrigues Island (Mauritius) early on 23 December with projected winds of up to 200 km/h. Heavy rainfall and strong wind could affect Mauritius and Rodrigues Island on 22-23 December.

  • Tropical cyclone SEVEN (CILIDA in La Réunion and Mauritius) formed over the Indian Ocean on 19 December. At 0:00 UTC, its centre was located approx. 1 085 km north-north-east of Mauritius and 1 250 km north-east of La Réunion with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h (tropical storm).
  • Over the next 24 hours, it is forecast to continue south-west, strengthening, with maximum sustained winds up to 102 km/h (tropical storm). SEVEN is forecast to pass over Mauritius and Rodrigues Islands on 22-23 December with maximum sustained winds up to 157 km/h.
