On 15 June, a thunderstorm accompanied by lightning affected the Tyrolean Alps, Western Austria, causing fatalities.
According to media, three people died due to a lightning strike as they were descending the 2,635 metres high Mittagsspitze mountain near the village of Flirsch. The recovery operation was challenging due to heavy rain, fog, and strong winds.
Over the next 48 hours, drier conditions are expected over Tyrol.
