Pubdate: 3/13/2026 10:55:06 AM
  • Strong winds, thunderstorms and heavy rainfall have been affecting north-western Thailand (mainly the three neighbouring provinces of Lampang, Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son) since 10 March, causing a number of severe weather-related incidents (mainly due to the strong wind) that have resulted in affected populations and damage.
  • The ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet) reports, as of 13 March, a total of nearly 1 000 affected people and nearly 200 damaged houses across the Lampang, Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son provinces, where the most affected is the Chiang Mai province.
  • Over the next 48 hours, more rainfall with locally heavy rainfall is still forecast over northern Thailand, including the already affected provinces.
