Peru - Landslide and floods (ECHO 05 Apr 2026)

A landslide triggered by recent heavy rainfall and the overflow of the Muccuimayo River occurred in Carabaya Province (Puno Region, southern Peru), leading to casualties and damage.
According to media reports, at least two people died due to the landslide, 90 families have been affected and two roads have been destroyed by the events.
For the next 24?hours, light rain is expected across the affected province.
