DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 100 AM CHST...1500 UTC...the center of Tropical Storm 23W was
located near Latitude 23.1 degrees North and Longitude 137.6 degrees
East. 23W is moving north at 21 mph. It is expected to turn toward the
northwest with a dramatic decrease in forward speed through Monday.
This general forecast track will keep 23W over the open ocean south of
Japan.

Maximum sustained winds are 45 mph. 23W is forecast to maintain this
intensity through Sunday, then begin to weaken. 23W could end up
dissipating by Tuesday.

Tropical storm force winds extend outward from the center up to
50 miles to the east with little or no tropical storm force to
the west.
