  • Tropical cyclone FLOSSIE continued over the North Eastern Pacific Ocean on 30 June along the coast of south-western Mexico as a tropical storm, streghtening. On 1 July at 6.00 UTC its centre was located offshore approximately 430 km west of the coast of central Guerrero state, with maximum sustained winds of 130 km/h (cat. 1 hurricane).
  • It is forecast to strengthen and to reach the cat. 2 hurricane intensity - with maximum sustained winds up to 176 km/h - on 2 July around 12.00 UTC, approximately 400 km west of the Jalisco state.
  • Over the next 72 hours, very heavy rainfall and strong winds are forecast over most of southern and central Mexico. NOAA has issued a tropical storm warning over a number of coastal area of south-western Mexico.

  • Tropical cyclone FLOSSIE continued northwest over the North Eastern Pacific Ocean on 1 July along the coast of southwestern Mexico as a hurricane, strengthening. On 2 July at 3.00 UTC, its centre was located offshore approximately 270 km west of the coast of Jalisco state, with maximum sustained winds of 185 km/h (cat. 3 hurricane).
  • FLOSSIE is forecast to strengthen to reach maximum sustained winds up to 204 km/h (cat.3) on 2 July around 12.00 UTC.
  • Over the next 72 hours, heavy rainfall and strong winds are forecast over Michoacán, Colima, and Jalisco states. A tropical storm warning is in effect for the coast areas of north-western Mexico.

  • A new tropical storm named BARRY formed over the Gulf of Mexico on 28 June and started moving toward central-eastern Mexico. It made landfall on 30 June very early in the morning over the far northern coastal Veracruz state as a tropical storm, and at 3.00 UTC its centre was located inland approximately 10 km south of the Tampico Alto town, with maximum sustained winds of 56 km/h (tropical depression).
  • BERRY is forecast to continue inland over Veracruz, San Luis Potosí, and Tamaulipas states on 30 June, further weakening and dissipating on 1 July.
  • Meanwhile, another tropical cyclone named FLOSSIE formed over the North Eastern Pacific Ocean in the very early morning of 30 June and started moving along the coast of south-western Mexico as a tropical storm. It is forecast to strengthen and to reach the category 2 hurricane intensity on 2 July, approximately 330 km west of the Colima state.
  • Over the next 72 hours, very heavy rainfall and strong winds are forecast over most of southern and central Mexico.
