Yukon–Koyukuk Census Area, Alaska, USA, Early May 2022An ice jam along the Tanana River caused flooding in areas near Manley Hot Springs, Yukon–Koyukuk Census Area, Alaska. As of 07 May 2022, Alaska Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management said between 50 and 75 residents of Manley Hot Springs were in the process of evacuating to higher ground. Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy declared a disaster emergency for the Yukon Koyukuk Regional Education Attendance Area (REAA) due to the flooding. NWS measurements for river levels were not available. However NWS Fairbanks said "An observer reported significant flooding in town, and water levels 1 foot below the bottom of the bridge. This is a historic flood, and the highest water level the observer has seen in 45 years. It is approaching the record flood of 1956."Sun 8 May 2022FloodList provided by Copernicus GLOFAS
